Share Your Conference Experience

This is my sixth conference with NSTA — my first, in 2008, was in Boston as well. When I tried to walk through the NSTA Science Store this morning, it was packed virtually shoulder to shoulder (the lines are considerably shorter now if you want to get some NSTA gear or pick up a few NSTA Press books). The crowd who came to hear keynote speaker Mayim Bialik was more than the room could hold, so a number of people were redirected to another room so they could still attend.

As you can see from this photo, there were a lot of science educators eager to enter the exhibit hall this morning, too.
If you couldn’t make it to Boston this year, check out where daily videos from the conference are being shared. A lot of attendees are sharing their experiences on Twitter using #NSTA14.It’s been a busy day already, and it’s still early afternoon!

My favorite part is the enthusiasim and generosity of the teacher presenters, and that of the participants who jump in with their experiences and ideas.

This is my second year attending NSTA; my favorite part about the conference is being able to connect with many other educators and have conversations about their experiences teaching. I love hearing their stories!

My favorite part of the NSTA Conference is everything!!! I love seeing former students/teachers presenting here, I love presenting with colleagues, I love the Exhibit Hall, I love hearing about the latest on implementing NGSS. It’s all awesome!
Thank you for all your hard work in putting together the Conference. Can’t wait to get my proposal in for Chicago!!!

I thought that this years Elementary Extravaganza was fabulous! There were so many interactive activities and the teachers who volunteered to be a part of this event really did their best to meet the needs of teachers of all grade levels. I was also thrilled to see so many more workshops at the conference for early childhood teachers.

I was a first-timer! It was an amazing experience to be around such a huge volume of science teaching professionals from all areas of education, and from all over the world! I deeply appreciated the opportunities to have professional conversations with people that I sat with in sessions, even just walking to and from different hotels. I especially enjoyed the positive feedback that my colleauge and I received from the audience after we presented. We walked around feelling buzzed from that all weekend! I look forward to attending another NSTA… and soon!
